Micro RC Jousting
Sep 13th, 2008 by admin
This project combines the exotic worlds of paper craft, micro RC cars, and The Renaissance Festival.
Through a combination of existing paper craft models, and my own original ones, I transform ordinary micro RC cars into action-packed jousters.
I make the jouster, the weapon, and the horse. My micro RC car gives my warrior movement.
I want to expand people’s imagination by adding movement to paper craft. By using paper, you can build almost anything. By using micro RC cars, you can move your imagination.
The materials I used are: bamboo sticks, paper, card stock, scissors, exacto, tape, magnets, glue, foam core, and mini RC cars.
I made the lances out of bamboo skewers. I made the lovely vamplate (hand guard) out of paper, glue and tape. The jousters are made of folded/glued/taped cardstock and have a magnet stuck to the bottom. The “horses” are folded paper that have been decorated. I glued/taped the paper head and tail after getting the main part of the horse fitted to the RC car.
In this photo, you can see the micro RC cars. I stuck a piece of magnet to the roof of the cars. This is what the jousters stick to, and can easily be unseated from. The horse shell fits over the car. Then stick the jouster on and get to jousting!

Nyssa, my stepson had great fun at a tech fest playing with your micro RC jousters. We wanted to buy the cars but don’t know what scale we should order. Can you help? Also do you have tips on where we can get inexpensive cars that also run well? Thanks!
