Know what I mean, Vern?

It all started because I have a friend named Vern. And when you hang out with a friend named Vern, you will hear “Know what I mean, Vern?” multiple times a year.
That quote lead to the following conversation…with someone not named Vern…
“So, what do you think the best Ernest movie was? Like, if someone had a gun to your head and you just HAD TO decide!? I would say, ‘Ernest goes to Camp’ was the best of that series…Don’t you agree?”
Sadly, I’m not a connoisseur of Ernest movies (Ha-ha, I never thought I would use those words in the same sentence!). Did you know that there are a TON of Ernest movies!? I had no idea! So, even if I wanted to do a serious study on the pros and cons of each Ernest movie, it would take FOREVER! I am afraid my scientific curiosity will not be sated when it comes to Ernest movies.
But back to the conversation…First, I would hope to not find myself in a situation of judging Ernest movies at gun point. Then, I would fail the quiz because the only thing I remember about “Ernest goes to Camp” was that it was featured on the delightful show “Up All Night” with Rhonda Shear and Gilbert Gottfried on the USA network. They would introduce movies and make witty comments (similar to Elvira), and the movies were a stupendous selection of schlocky B-movies. That was back when cable TV gave viewers gifts like that on Friday and Saturday nights.
They introduced me to a world of B movies, like the hilariously bad, “Assault of the Killer Bimbos.” And then there was a movie about women in bikini’s being pursued by dinosaurs… so many awesomely bad B movies, and so little time!
I guess if I had to choose the best Ernest movie ever, I would, after some digression, agree that “Ernest goes to Camp” was the best because it reminds me of how fantastic B movies used to be.
Have you seen all the Ernest movies? Which one do you think is best and why?
