Antler Head is finished!
I carved a big wooden bone, hollowed it out, filled it with electronics and then affixed the Antler Head stone to the wood. I also deepened the grooves of the teeth to make them more pronounced.
The eyes are marbles glued to washers. It was important to have translucent eyes so [...]

We have a trail that winds through cedar trees and grass lands and a big hill. The trail is winding and both dark and sun-speckled as sun light filters through the trees. There’s lots of stumps and rocks and perfect places to display art in a dramatic outdoor setting. But outside art [...]

This is another painting in my “Woman in …” series. This is about fear; being trapped by and being liberated from. I was thinking about near death experiences and about how your perspective radically shifts at that moment. How things that were so important become meaningless and how the things that were [...]

This is part of my “Woman in…” series. When I painted this, I was thinking about what “intense” would look like.
When I think about someone who is intense, I think:

-About having so much energy & emotion, you can’t get the words out.

This painting is about the transitory nature of the brain. How memories, emotions, thoughts and feelings all fade away, or change. But how some things like beliefs or your happiest memory are locked in and seemingly unchangeable.
The circles and lines are a chrome silver that is difficult to photograph. There are raised, sculptural lines in [...]

Because of this hard work, YOU can now buy one of my original t-shirt designs . Woo-hoo!
After much research, I decided to use [...]

I took photos of a sculpture I finished a while back. Actually, I just added the weapon today. The original version was of two winged demons locked in combat. Now, with the addition of a ferocious weapon, the combat is mortal (for at least one of them).
This piece is made [...]

Last night, in a marathon, 4 hour, art-making session, I finished my Whirling Dervish piece.
This is my first piece that incorporates movement and lights. The spinning LEDs are the “whirling part” of my Dervish. I was inspired to take this step by the Robot Group .
The wire leads to a battery pack [...]

Well, I just submitted my entry into the “Pabst 2008 Art Contest .” I had 59 minutes to spare, so I’m kickin’ back and drinking a well deserved PBR (Pabst Blue Ribbon) and preparing my taste buds for a year’s supply of beer (if all goes well).
I’d like to thank Betsey for letting me [...]
